Vegetarian menu at Sushi bar

It might be not easy to find Vegetarian foods in Japan.

Most of my friends from several countries love sushi but sometimes customers from foreign countries asked us “vegetarian menu” in my father’s sushi bar.

I will teach you not vegetarian menu but also teach you Japanese because of Japanese teacher.

And I also want you teach Japanese because of Japanese teacher.

Oshinko roll

One of vegetarian menu at sushi bar is “Oshinko roll“.

Oshinko roll is Takuan roll. We say Oshinko roll at sushi bar.

There are a great many varieties of pickles in Japan.

One of them, Oshinko. We say also Asaduke. 

It’s pickled of vegetables with salt and seasoning for a short time.

What is “Oshinko”?

Formal name of Takuan is Takuan-duke. It is pickled radish.  It is made by pickling Japanese radish in salted rice bran paste contained in a barrel. 

We can get all of it at super markets in Tokyo.
