So, I will tell you about how to take a bus in Japan.

Bus in Tokyo and Bus in Countryside

There are 2 types of how to get the bus : Taking a bus in Tokyo and countryside.

・Tobu bus  

Tobu bus service operates in the northeast of Tokyo, the south and the east of Saitama  Prefecture, the northwest of Chiba Prefecture and the Nikko district.  

・Keisei bus 

Keisei bus service operates in Edogawa district in Tokyo/a route bus at Katsushika district (etc)/highway bus.

・Keisei town bus 

Keisei town bus service operates mostly in Katsushika district in Tokyo. (All 15 route/2021 feb)

・Toei bus  

Toei bus service operates in Tokyo city.

・Community bus  

Adachi district ”Halukaze”  

Katsushika district “Rainbow Katsushika” 

Taito district “Megulin”

Chuo district “Edo bus”

How to get the bus in Tokyo

①Check the destination

②Getting on the bus

Get on the front door.

Please get in line when you get on.

③Pay the bus fare 

You would see⇩when you get on the front door. 

*We recommend you ask the bus driver when you need to pay back.

④Press the button to get off the bus.

If you push this button, the bus would stop next bus stop. 

⑤Get off the bus.

Get off the back door.

How to get the bus in Countryside

Check the destination.

②Get on the bus.

Get on the back door.

*Please get in line when you get on.

③Get the numbered ticket.

*Don’t crumple a piece of paper into a ball.

*Don’t fold the paper.

④Press the button to get off the bus.

If you push this button, the bus would stop next bus stop. 

⑤ Pay the bus fare

Pay the bus fare at the front door before you get off the bus.

  1. Find your number on bus fare table.
