・You don’t know how to ask for the price.

So, I will tell you about what Japanese staffs would say and how to ask for the price in Japanese.

The word you would hear when you enter the shops

You will hear ” Ilasshai Mase” or ” Ilasshai” when you enter the shops.

This is a welcome word.

The point and ask method

The easiest way to ask a price “Ikura desu ka?”.

More Advanced Method

Kole/Sole/Ale

Basically, Kole/Sole/Ale is used properly according to the distance to the referent.

”Kole wa Ikula desu ka ?”

“Kole” is point the goods which is a short distance away.

“Ale wa Ikula desu ka ?”

“Ale” is point the goods which is a long distance away from you and listener.

“Sole wa Ikula desu ka ?”

“Sole” is point the goods which is a long distance away from you and near listener.

You will hear when you would go back or after the payment

You will hear “Aligato gozaimasu” or ” Aligato gozaimashita”

The words used to convey gratitude and gratitude

” Aligato gozaimashita” is the past sentence.
